WHAT IS IT ?
Detroit Area Musicians In Support of School Music
For as long as I can remember, it is a well known FACT that Kids that are involved in extra curricular activities at school do better scholastically, stay away from the temptations of drug & alcohol use, have a lower drop-out rate, and are better suited to meet the challenges of an ever more diverse world. Most students in the pursuit of Music careers attribute their success to some Band Director somewhere back in their life that gave them the courage to press on in the highly competitive environment of High School, I know I do, boy did I hate that guy at times!!!.
Today , as we all know , we are
constantly asked to tighten our belts to continue to provide these Music
Programs for our Kids as school after school is fiscally destroyed by
cash strapped government funding cuts, unpassed millages, and , usually Music
programs are the first to go......SAD
We are a group of accomplished professional
Musicians that aren’t going to stand by and watch this if there is any thing we
can do to help. And so, we have come up with the not so original idea of holding
benefit concerts to directly bolster up these programs at a school by school
local level approach. By working in connection with local businesses,
individuals, and the general public, the Broken Arrow Blues Band, based in Brighton,
Michigan, has put together what we think is the best of the best group of Performing
Blues Artists from in, and around the Detroit area to come together and deliver
live Blues performances that the proceeds from will directly benefit the school
band program of the particular area in which it is produced.
With any luck at all, we will raise greatly needed funds for our kid’s school Music Programs, for equipment, trips, clinics, camps, or in some cases, just to keep the Music Programs offered at a school period. Some of the Parents out there can afford to throw money at the kid’s musical endeavors, and some can not. All the monies raised will be distributed to the beneficiary school as a blanket amount that will benefit ALL the kids equally.
And the parents say AHHHHH…
$15.00 door cover donations per person, OR, $200 or $ 300 or more at a toss.

Corporate Sponsors can contact the Band directly to donate and gain advertising opertunities such as inclusion on banners, playbills, direct physical attendance, etc. All Individual donations are , of course, welcomed as well. {See Mr. Ellis}
